Stayed in US for 2 Yrs on H1-B Visa. Visa Expiry dt on Passport - 2014. Renewal?

Have stayed in US for 2 years in H1-B Visa from year 2011 to 2013. (stayed earlier for 3 years on L1 Visa through company).

The H1-B Visa expiry on passport says FEB 2014.
Can the Visa be renewed by an Employer since H1-B visa is generally valid for 6 years (3 years and extendable for another 3 years).

Pls suggest.

Was the earlier stay in L1 immediately preceding the H1 stay? In other words, what are the dates you stayed in L1, when was H1 applied, and when did you move to H1?
