H4 extension filed when wife was in India

My H1 is expiring in October , 2017 and extension was filed in May,2017. My wife's H4 was also applied at same time but she was in India at that time and I didn't knew that she has to be in US for filling H4 extension. I was wondering why I didn't received my H1 extension yet when I read about these on net.
What could happen next and what could be done now. Could my H1 extension also be rejected because of this?
