H1 Transferred while travel

I have a question regarding my H1 Transfer.
I worked for company A. Company B initiated my H1 Transfer through premium. While it was in process I went to India (July 4th 2016) because of my mother died. When I was in India H1 Transfer (July7th 2016) got approved. I came back to USA (July 28th 2016) with company A valid and stamped H1. I have not used my H1 transfer petition.
Once I was back to USA. I resigned company A and joined company B (Aug 5th 2016) and working till now. Now, my company B applying for GC process. They are saying that there is a dispute in my H1 Transfer. As I travelled back after my H1 transfer approved petition date. It overwrites my H1 transfer. They are asking me to go canada for stamping.
Is it true ? Do I need to go for stamping ? I am working with company B with out of status ?
