Hi All, I am new to this thread, I am hoping to receive some advice from the experienced here regarding my situation:
My visa interview with the embassy was on August 31st. I thought my visa stamping would be very straight forward, I have been on H1b for few years. My visa stamping the first time was a breeze, no questions were asked. I had my visa interview for the renewed H1b last week at Hyderabad, India. The visa officer asked me about my educational background (my first Masters was in Biochemistry and I did a thesis), the officer asked me about my thesis and he issued me a form 221g white slip. I later got an email asking for my resume, research experience etc. I sent all the information they have asked for, and also stating that my current job doesn’t include any research. I kept checking the status of my visa – it says the case is under administrative processing and might take several weeks to get resolved. I have talked to my friends – It has taken anywhere between 2-3 months for their query to be resolved. I cant afford to stay so long in India away from my love done. My boyfriend holds US citizenship. I would like to look at all other options that can speed up my travel to USA while maintaining my job at this time. I have a few thoughts as below, not sure how they all tie together. I would love to hear any opinions/suggestions on the below
1. If my boyfriend(US citizen) wants to sponsor K1 /fiancé visa, can I enter the country on K1 visa and continue to work (or) do an adjustment of status to H1?
2. Can I work on spouse visa (if married to my boyfriend who is US citizen) ?
3. Is it a possibility to main H1b visa with any of the above visas at the same time?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
