L1 to H1 transfer

One of my friend has applied from L1 to H1 transfer.She wants to know if it is mandatory for her to work on new H1(once its approved) or can she continue working on existing L1( as she may not be interested in joining the company which is sposoring her H1).
will appreciate any help.

H visa can be revoked if a request is made if employee is not keen on accepting the offer.
