Physician on H1b locum jobs

Hey I am an ICU physician and I would like to know if I can work in the USA on H1b visa in locum jobs. Meaning I will come over as needed for few weeks cover locum positions available once or more per year which might be with the sample employer but can also be with different employers. So basically will be living and residing out of the states and just coming to USA to get some experience and make some cash?
