Change of Status - Please help

I was on F1 status which expired on OCT1st. My change of status to H4 was applied on Aug30th and I'm still waiting for an approval. At this point am I allowed to stay in the states or should I leave the country? In case I'm travelling domestically will there be any issues?

You are allowed to stay in the US. You can travel domestically with no problems. Just make sure to bring your I-539 receipt with you.
