Hello,
I am from California currently on H1B Visa (I-140 approved). I will be marrying my fiancee who is on F1 visa and we will be filing her change of status from F1 to H4.
We are planning to a simple court marriage since it will be just two of us (might be 2-3 friends). Now in California, we have two options for a marriage certificate: Confidential and Public. We personally like the confidential marriage certificate since it's not publicly searchable on the internet which we really like from the privacy standpoint.
Now we are wondering if a confidential certificate treated differently by USCIS for COS application than a public one? Which one will be better for our case?
Also, does USCIS asks for pictures of ceremony and guests for court marriages which happened in US too?
Your suggestion will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
