H1B to L1B Visa transfer while in USA

I am currently in USA on H1B visa. I came to USA in Dec’2015 for the first time on H1B.

Prior to that I was in USA on L1B visa for about 1.75 years (between 2011 to Feb 2014). (Same employer and same client as of today)

Is it possible to get my status changed from H1B to L1B without revoking my H1B visa so that my wife can work on L2 EAD?
If yes, do I have to go back to India for that or this can be done from USA as well?
My 2 years on current H1 will count in my L1B so I'll have only 1.25 years left on L1B. Correct?
Once my L1B is finished, can I go back to H1B without stamping and all?
How much time I can stay on H1B visa after that?

You don't have to go for stamping if you do changes of status. Also you would only have total 5 years in L1B.
You can also switch back to H1 in future as it will be cap-exempt.

Have you started the process with attorney, I am also in similar situation and attorney suggested to be on H1 and start PERM and get H4 EAD. However looking at current scenario, H1->L1 is better option.
