H1B visa denied, Do I have to go through lottery again?

Hello All,

I have my H1B denied but I am authorized to work here till Aug of next year since I have my OPT. Since I have my OPT valid do I have to go through the Lottery process again? I have read in some threads that if I maintain valid status I need not go through Lottery again so just wanted to verify if it is valid in my case.

Your OPT has got nothing to do with your H1. If you did not get a H1B this year, and would like to get one for the next year, you have to go through the lottery again.
