H-1 Visa expires, return airfare from the employer ?

Hi!

My H-1 visa is expiring in a month and I've not applied for the green card. I'm planing to go back to India by resigning from my current organization. I've heard , but not found any document on it yet, that it's employer's liability to provide the return airfare once I leave the company and go back to India. Is it true ? If so, can someone help me finding relavant document on it ? How about for dependant visa holders (H-4) ?

Looks like my employer is planning to provide me the airfare, if it's legal, I can show that document as a proof!

Employer is expected to provide return ticket fare to H1 visa holder. Employer is not expected to provide return ticket fare to H4 dependants.
