Updating New Passport number in I94

Hi All,

I am on H1B VISA and my current I94 is valid until Apr 2019. However the passport no. mentioned in that I94 is expiring in March 2018. I got my new passport recently. Is it mandatory to update my current I94 with my new passport number ? If so how can I get it updated. Kindly clarify.
