I-94 Admit Date Until D/S and H1B extension still pending

Hello - My I-94 on my I-797 shows as valid till 01/24/2018 . My H-1B extension process is still in pending state. Am I out of status or can I continue with my H-1B extension receipt.

You are out of status but you can stay in the US as long as the extension is pending assuming the extension was filed before your I-94 expired, and you can continue working for 240 days after your I-94 expired while the extension is pending.
