Just to give a background before I get to the actual question -
My H1B visa expires on 1st Sept 2018. My wife (on H4 visa) and I are in India right now. I'll be back to the US in about a week and will apply for my visa renewal shortly after.
My family is planning to travel back to the US in mid June. We're yet to book their return leg.
Would like to know how soon before the visa expiration should they travel to not have any risk at the time of entering US? Is 2.5 months before the visa expiration any risk at all?
What if my visa extension gets a RFE before their travel? Would that be any problem to my family's re-entry to the US?
