Travel outside US, H1B petition pending

Hi, I need to travel to India as my dad is having a bypass surgery Mid april.

I am currently on L1 (expiring in June) and my company has filed an H1 for this year to do a change of status.

I want to know, if there is a way to avoid my H1 petition being abandoned. Please provide your insight in my situation

The petition won't be abandoned, but the change of status will probably be abandoned.
