221g Blue Slip- More than 7 months - wait or withdraw ?

Hi All,
Need your suggestion,
I have been appeared for H1B visa interview on August 7, 2017. I have given my interview and submitted all the requested documents on the same day.But the consular officer given 221 blue ship and below check box checked.
" Your application is refused for administrative processing. The application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete"". No other documents are requested either from me or my petitioner.
It's been nearly 8 months and still i haven't received any status update from consulate.
I am used to check my status through online and still my case status shows " Administrative Processing"and case last update date is "07- Aug - 2017

1. What could be the reason for delay ?
2. What would be the result ? visa get denied or approved ?
3. Should i wait till i get an update or can i withdraw my visa application ? how to withdraw the visa application at chennai consulate ?
4. is is withdrawal easy option ?

Please give some suggestions

Hi,

I have given my interview on 10th April 2018, got 221g by saying "Your application is refused for administrative processing. The application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete" and said that no action needed for now. In case needed we will mail you.

Not sure how long it will take. I came back to India in Aug 2017 due to my H1 6 years term completing in sep 2017, waiting for my I-140 approval. So less wages on on W2 for 2017. Consular office stressed on this point and how you supported client from here and you were on bench.

Can you please help me what your attorney said on your case.

If you have any idea on my above , please let me know. thank you for the help.
