change of status (b1 to h1) and need to travel

Hi

I had come to US on a B1 through company A in sep 05. Got an offer from company B and company B did a change of status to H1 in oct 05 and I have got my H1 approved for next 3 years.

Now am in need to travel immediately to my home country.

My question is

1. Is there a emergency visa stamping procedure that I can make avail to get my visa stamped in my home country?

2. If my stamping is going to take a while, can I come back with my earlier B1 (my B1 does not have any annotation attached to it) if I get a letter from my current employer?

Please need your suggestion fast.

Hi,
It depends on what is your home country, if its India, there is an emergency appointment available for returning workers. You cannot travel back on B1 if you intend to take up employment. You will need to enter on a H1B visa.
