  • H1b 1 year left and PERM yet to be filed

    Hi All Members,

I am in a really confusing situation right now and need some string advise from all the folks who have been helping keep this forum running.

    Situation:

1 year left on my H1b and H1b extension in progress for the last year extension. Employer offers to file PERM in EB2 in next 3 months [Which is less than 365 days rule to file PERM to get 1 year H1b after 6 years]. But i also have canada work permit approved and a project ready in Canada. Employer is asking me to make a decision if i am will to stay back and proceed with PERM filing with just 8 months left on h1b with an offer to send me to Canada if anything goes wrong with my h1b extension or PERM approval.

Really need some help as i am not sure if i should just stay back and take the risk or just go to canada. PLEASE HELP!!

Thank you in advance to everyone on this forum.

    Canada

Go to Canada. US getting stricter with regulations, so many Indians in US. Ppl may not say it, but many Americans frustrated with number of Indians that have "taken over" their country. Walk down the street in Mt. View Ca (where I live) is all Indians. Go while you can.

A better suggestion would be to go back to India and try to solve some of the problems you came to US to get away from. Americans work hard to set up country. Too many Indians just want to come here, take advantage, get rich, send money home. For once think of America, you are here to help yourself only. America is dying under the weight of too many Indians.

Thanks for the advise, while i understand that there are too many uncertainties here, the only good thing here is no of opportunities. I am little worried that in Canada i wont be able to get assignments easily if i get out of my current project. But thanks again for your advise.
