Travel to India on H4 Visa Extension Pending

Hai.. I am currently living in US on dependent H4 Visa and my spouse is on H1B .
My Visa got expired on July-02, 2018. Before this expiration, we have applied for visa extension in May month.
And our case was received by them and it is still in processing. Meanwhile I am in an unavoidable situation to travel to India on a family emergency. I want to get clarified about the following things:
1. Is it possible for me to travel to India despite Visa expiration?
2. Will I face any problems during my travel?

You will have to get a new visa stamped prior to entering the US again, if your current one has expired.
