Hello,
I just found out that I've lost the top part of the I-797A notice. I'm on H-1b.
However I do have the bottom part; both the I-94 and also the card on the left where it says detach for personal record which has the receipt #, validity, petitioner information etc. But the top part (notice) is missing (i have a copy).
Please help me in finding answers to the questions below:
1. Do I need the top part for H-1 stamping, H1 transfer etc?
2. Would I need to apply for a duplicate using the I-824 form and how long does this take?
My employer has their original I-797 but they are not supposed to provide that to the employees.
