H1-B Visa

I am working as a software engineer in India .I got my H1-B Visa stamped through my previous organization.
The visa expires in Apr. 2008
Does my VISA hold valid even though the petition was filed by my previous company ? Can I apply for any US company located in US with the H1-B Visa ?

u have to work for your previous company for a minimum period at USA

To work with other companies, u need to tranfer the H1B, however even for this you should have worked minimum a month (2 payslips) with ur previous company at USA. as paysilps required for h1b transfer.

anyway i read about h1transfer without paysilp on some other forum. but i am not sure how it is done. check with others..
