Hi all,
I graduated from US university this month (Bachelors). I filed for H1-B, but my application did not go thru as the cap was reached on May 26 2006. Now, I can file for my H1-B in April 2007, and according to law, I can start working on my H1 from 1st October 2007. My OPT starts from 25th July 2006, and will end an year after (i.e. 24th July 2007). I have 2 issues:
1.) Please let me know, what are my options, now to stay in US from 24th July 2007- 1st October 2007 and still work. I know that I can stay in US for 60 more days (grace period) but can't work.
2.) Say, if I take leave from 24th July 2007-1st October 2007. 24th July + 60 days (grace) is 24th september, but still I have to maintain legal status for 6 days (24th sept-1st oct). What are my options here, besides leaving US for those 6 days and re-enter having H1 stamped.
I would really appreciate your conscern.
