My self Ram I came to US in Feb-2005 and I worked with consultant for some period (petition valued until 2007).
Now I got permanent position and H1B new petition (valued until 2009).
As per my attorney I went to update my I -94 to Tijuana – Mexico.
At port of entry I told them I am here to update my I- 94.
They saw my passport and told me that you have I -94 till 2007 , So we cant extend it right now.
I came back to US with my old I 94 and old visa(valued until -07).
My question is:
1) Do I need to update my I – 94?
2) If yes how do I update?
3) Can I stay in US even though if my VISA and I 94 expires but my I 797 petition is valued until 2009.?
Please let me know any comments as per your experience.
