Travel to India while amendment in progress

Hi,
I switched companies while in the US in July 2018. My visa expired in June 2018 but my new employer got my 1797 approved till 2021 but I haven't got my visa re-stamped yet to reflect this change. After I joined the new consulting company (one of the big 4), I got staffed to a client which required an amendment. This amendment was filed in September in regular processing. Now, I need to go to India by end of december for a month along with my wife who is on an H4.
I don't expect a result on the amendment request by December.

I have 2 questions:
1. While filling DS160, which petition number should I put - the one I got approved or the one where amendment is in progress?
2. While going for stamping in India, what additional documents should I carry as my amendment is in progress.

In a similar situation

I wanted to travel to India in Dec., I haven't changed employer but my client got changed, I filed a new amendment. I have extension valid till 2019. But Im scared to travel with a pending amendment, my attorney said its fine to travel if I have all the documents.
