My wife is travelling to India. She has a H-4 stamped on her passport which is valid until January 2020. The H-4 visa has my previous employer?s name listed on it though. Just wanted to confirm that she?s still ok to re-enter the US on the basis of this visa.
Secondly, the passport that the visa is stamped on has now expired. She updated her name to her married last name on the new passport. The I-797 that we received for the I539 filed through my new employer is in her new name. Can she produce the following documents at the port of entry, or is it better to get a new visa (with married last name) stamped on her new passport:
? both her passports,
? her original I-797 for her H4 through my new employer,
? copy of my approval notice for my new H-1B
? copy of the marriage certificate
For the last two points - is a copy ok, or is the original required?
