resign from old job while on leave and stamping

Hi,
Currently on vacation to India and New job offer received via email. New employer says resign from India itself at old job and give 2 weeks to old employer before traveling back. but i have H1b visa stamping this time. how can I resign from india before H1 stamping as my I-797 has old employer's name and details on it. Is this a good idea?
Also, is it a good idea to resign from job while on India trip?

It is advisable to get the stamping done and return back to US and then resign.
When you file a new H1B petition it is always recommended to be within the country.
