Hello,
I'm currently on L1 status for a company in Bay area. My employer is transferring(non-optional) me to Chicago by end of this month. Fortunately, my H1B(2018 cap) just got approved last week. My employer is willing to file H1B amendment for changing location which will also change my status to H1-B. However, i got to know from the attorneys that there is a chance that this amendment will be rejected as i never worked on H1B status in my original location. If that happens, I will have to go back to lottery again.
My question, is it possible to use my approved H1B to get another job before changing status to H1?
