Return to US without stamping in consular notify H1b visa application.

if i get my visa approved in consular notify application and i still have 2 more years of opt left. can i travel to india and come back without H1b stamping so that i can utilize my opt.
i can get the stampting later before my opt expires ?

or should i get my H1b stamped during my frist travel ?
