H1B Amendment for location change

I have been working for an employer, full time, since last 7 years and currently on my 5th year of H1b (expires Aug 2020) with I140 approved. Sine my family lives in different state, I asked my employer for relocation and complete work from home possibility. Employers then wants to first go through any immigration process in this case filing for an amendment with probability of approval or denial and then take decision.

So I would like to know if anyone experienced this situation, and what is the probability of amendment approval with work in one state and opting for complete WFH option. Also, is there a different option?

Does my employer also needs to refile LCA and I140 ?
