I am currently on H-1 visa and I am from India. However, my OPT expired last year in August 2005 and i got my H-1 visa in October 1, 2005. Therefore, I was out of status between August till October. However, I stayed in US since i had 2 months grace period. Now, I am planning to get my H1 stamped on my passport and I am wondering if I can go to Mexico or Canada to do this. I am not sure if I can as I read somewhere I can't go there if I have been out of status. Can anyone clarify if it is possible to go to Mexico to get my visa stamped? Let me know any other suggestions as well. Thanks in advance
