Hello Eeryone,
I appeared for my first H1B visa interview at the Consulate in Chennai on October 15th, 2018 and received my approved visa and stamped passport on October 24th and October 25th, 2018 respectively.
This is a "consular processing" case and I received my approval and stamping until June 2019 per the original I-797 and just when I received my approved stamp (October 24th, 2018), USCIS had already issued a New I-797 with the H1B validity until July 23rd, 2021 and I was informed of this by the attorneys on October 24th, 2018. I called the customer care and also upon sending an email to the Consulate was advised that I take a new visa interview date to get a fresh stamp per my new issued I-797 and therefore I requested for a new stamp though the case still continued to be one of consular processing as it is New Employment and I did not return to the United States in this period.
My second interview took place on Dec 17th, 2018 and the officer requested for certain additional documents which I submitted on January 9th, 2019 and on January 11th, 2019 I received a response for submitting additional documents which was submitted on February 7th, 2019.
I am still waiting and the client is looking forward for me to return back. Is there anyone who has any suggestions or recommendations on what I could do?
