H4 status after H1 principal leaves

I am on H4 visa valid till sep 2007. My husband came on deputation from his company on H1B and his assignment is going to be over soon. I am studying here and it will take another month or so to complete my course after my husband leave US. My question is Can I stay legally after my husband leaves US.

My husband's visa will be valid till Sep 2007 and his company is not going to cancel it.

It is something like, you both are here and your husband went to India for some work.
