  • To Veena Swsh....Qury regarding filling DS156

    Hi,

I plan to apply for a H4 visa. I have two questions regarding the form DS156.

On section 26 it asks , How long do you intend to stay in the US? What should one write in this section? My spouse has her valid H1 visa for another 2 years. On going there, I too plan to start working after converting to a H1. If I start working there then my contract there would be for 3-4 years. So should I mention the duration as on my spouse's visa(2years) or instead should I mention the total 4 years that I intend to stay?

On section 27, it asks what is the purpose of your trip? What should I write here? Is it okay to say- "to stay with my spouse" or is there any better way of putting that?

Please give me your advice. Thank you.

I think you are filling DS156 for H4, so put 2 years.

"to stay with my spouse" is good
Please give me your advice. Thank you.
