Visa Appt for new H4 and H1B stamping

Hi everyone,

Could someone help me with this..

My situation is, I am in US right now on H1B and will be going to India in Aug for my marriage. But I don't seem to be getting any visa appts not even emergency appts till Nov/Dec. I tried in all cousulates. no luck :-(

But my fiance, she already got an appt for Aug in Chennai for H4.

My question is,

1. You can add multiple applicants to an appointment if its from the same family. Can I (H1B stamping) add me as another applicant to her appt date (new H4).

2. Sometimes I see some dates opening up for Sept. As my fiances appt is in Aug how will this work. Can she go for H4 even though I dont have H1 stamping but I do have a valid I797.

Please answer these at the earliest as its very urgent.

No, you cannot add if the appointment is already confirmed

yes, she can go with valid I797 form,(assuming that by that time both you will get married)

Please answer these at the earliest as its very urgent.

Then I think I will take the earliest appointment available even if its in Sept.
After marriage, my wife can go for her H4 visa appt with my I797 and then in Sept I do my stamping.

As H4 visa is dependent on H1, won't there be any problem if I don't have a valid stamping at the time she goes for appt. Do you see any risk involved in this. Because somewhere I saw that my passport copies with visa stamping is one of the doc that she needs to carry.

Should not be an issue if you have valid I797 though it is not yet stamped in your passport.
yes, you need to send xerox copies of your passport (go for color xerox for better clarity) and try send your origianl passport with her if you are going to be there in India at that time.

one more quick question.
I am trying yo get my appt online for H1 stamping. I completed the application and had selected Chennai consulate on the first page. Now the application is saved and when want to confirm a date, its giving me only Chennai option, obviously.

I want to select the earliest date available in any consulates. How can I do that? Isn't there a way to select the consulate with the same application? Do I need to create a separate application for each? If I create multiple applcation will I be able to later delete thats not required.
