H4 to H1 stamping needed?

Hello all

I am in US on h4 status and recently i got my h1b approved.
Do i need to go back to india and get the stamping done?

My current h4 status is going to get expire in aug 2006.My husband has applied for his h1b extension and my h4 extension.

My h1b approvals starting date is oct 2006.Can i start working from oct 2006 or before that what precautions i need to take?
I have time till october and i need to know how well can i get prepared for my new status
