About h1b Visa extension

Hi,
I have been in us for 6 years on H4. Last year I applied for h1 for 1 year and I recaptured the time when I was in India got the visa upto nov end.
1) Can I extend my h1b visa. If so how can we do that.

You can file for an extn only if you have a GC process pending..
