  • How to reschedule the appointment??

    Hi All

My H1 is approved and i took a appointment of 21 dec in Mumbai.
I can see, some time sept dates are opened for booking, but when i go to book those dates i am always shown dates available after dec 21.

My question is, can i book any date prior to dec 21 without cancelling the dec 21 date? that means for time being i will have 2 dates booked as dec 21 and the new date which is booked while rescheduling. ( once i get new date i will cancel previous date) or do i need to cancel my first date and then i can book the new date?

and second question is: How many time i can reschedule it?

Thanks in advance for your comments/suggestions and reply.

You cannot have 2 appointments for the same receipt no./passport. You will have to cancel the existing appointment to make another one. On the other hand you can try to modify the present appointment by preponing the same using the Reschedule/Cancel link on the VFS site.

      Hi Veena

Thanks for your reply, but whenever i go to reschedule the appointment to a newer date, though nov dates are available it doesnt allow me to select it. the system is showing me only those dates which are available after dec 22.

i tried just now, i can see nov 1 is available. i tried rescheduling the appointmentusing resehedule/cancel button. but once i login to the system i able to see only dec 22 as available date.

so do i need to cancel the dec 21 date and again fill all the forms to get new date? in that case, by the time i fill all those foms i may miss dec 21 date as well.

To my knowledege you cannot reschedule to a prior date but only to a later date.
If you want a prior date the only option is to cancel the present appointment .
        you can reschedule only once.

the only thing you can do is ..
        cancel the present appointment.
Save your application again but exit without booking the appointment.
Your saved application will be in the database for 7 days.
within that period try to book an appointment when your convenient date becomes available.
It all depends on your luck and how much time you spend on the internet to catch up the availabilty of cancellations.
        Hope this helps

Per new rule, you can reschedule two times, after the 2nd cancellation, your
HDFC receipt will be inactive for 6o days. More info

              Reschedule visitor visa apointment

I read in the lot of the threads that some people were able to reschedule the appointment with out canceling it. Is it possible now? Did some one did that recently? Can some one please answer this.

              Thanks a lot...

Rescheduling to later dates is allowed (with some restrictions... https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/ApplnForms/Notice.aspx) without canceling the current appointment but you cannot reschedule to earlier dates

                  cancellation for second time

                  Hi all

today, i can see august 22 2006 is opened for booking. I have already cancelled my appointment once and took nov 22 as a new date for interview. Now if i want to book another date is it ok if i cancel my appointment again and book another one.

The VFS site says after second cancellation the HDFC receit will be deactivated for 60 days and we are not allow to take appointment in that period.

can anybody please tell me if i can cancel my appointment one more time and take a new date somewhere in august. or my receipt will be deactivated and i wont be allowed to take any new date at all.??

                  TIA
                  Neeraj

                    Saved application Vs booked date

I am not able to book earlier dates with saved application dates as well. Did any one face the similar issue?

Do I need to start from scratch when i see a good date available?

Whats the use of saved application facility?
