Change of Job on H1 Extension

Need some light from the experts here. Is H1 Extension as good as the intial H-1 for 3 years in terms of changing jobs. I am currently on H1 extension and wish to switch jobs..is there any legal formality invoved apart from change of employer...thanks would really appreciate a response.

you said it. h1 and h1 extension are one and the same thing
each h1 is valid for the period it was approved for
they will track of the total period
you can change employers between this visa validity period and the new one would be given for almost the same ending time period
