Travel info required for H4 to H1b vISA

Hi,

Currently I'm holding H4 Visa. Its valid until 2008. Also, Company A has filled a H1B petition for me and it got approved few weeks back. I need to travel to INDIA in the end of November. My Question here is , Do i need to get visa stamp in INDIA before entering into US or Can i use the current visa (H4 visa stamp) with new I-94 and I-797 document.

If any one know that, Please reply me. Thanks in advance for you help.

U need to get it stamped before entering US again as ur status has been changed from H4 to H1.

Should i get a visa stamped only in My home country or Can i goto Canada or Maxico and get visa stamped?

Well, U can go either to India (probably any consulate U want) or Mexico or Canada. But as far as i've heard Canada and Mexico are not good for fresh H1 stamping. But I'm not sure of this. I am also in a similar situation as urs. Seniors please respond
