H1B Processing

I applied for an H1B extension at the California center and received a receipt dated June 26th. On average how long are these taking to process?

I keep getting mixed information and the USCIS website information has not been updated since August 3rd, where it says they are processing cases with receipt dates of June 2nd. At first I was told 6-8 weeks, now on their Customer service line it is saying 12-16 weeks!

Any information, even an estimate based on how long others are taking would be very helpful.

H1B Visa Extension - Approved.

Just wanted to inform those out there, that I did receive my approval today.
Receipt was dated June 26th and the approval notice was dated August 22nd. Therefore the processing time for my H1B extension was a little under 2 months at the California Service Center.

Also, I wanted to inform those people out there who are stressing over paying lawyer fees know this; I was able to get this extension and a previous visa transfer done without using a lawyer. Saved me lots of money and made me understand the system better.

So it is definitely possible and if you take some time, read the procedure and call the USCIS on queries, you can do these things on your own. I would definitely recommend that for the first time dealing with any visa issues, do use a lawyer.

Not Yet Approved

Applied H1B extension/Change on May 10th(Reciept Recieved Date) Normal Process in California center but still pending, not yet approved, When i called Service people, they are asking me to wait 4 more weeks
