H4 to H1: Can it be stamped in Canada?

Hello Friends,

Can anybody guide me for some doubts I have.

I am on H4 right now and waiting for my H1B approval to come soon.
I have following questions
1) Can I travel to my home country and return back without going to VISA office for stamping on my existing H4 VISA after I get H1B approval?

2) Can I go to Canada for stamping after getting H1B approval?

3) For taking VISA appointment - VFS website says that I need a number from I-797, is it the same number which I got when my application is been accepted at INS - the EAC number?

I would really appreciate your help.

No. If you get the approval while ur in your home country, then you would need to stamp it there.
