Hi,
I came to united states through H4 in 2002. My Passport has H4 visa stamped. From 2004, i started working in H1B. I did not change my visa status in my passport.
Now i need to travel to india immediately for a family emergency. I want to come back to United States in 3 weeks. When i come back i need to get my H1B visa stamped in my passport.
when i checked in vfs, only in delhi i got the emergency appoitment on september/october. My state of residence is in Tamilnadu. Can i fix an emergency appointment in Delhi consulate and get my H1B visa stamped? When i checked in vfs website in one category it says
"Indian citizens resident in the USA on work permit and applying for a new visa to replace an expiring visa can request an appointment at any of the four visa sections."
I believe i wil fit in this category. Am i correct?.
Does any one have similar experience?.
