  • Visitor Visa- H4

    Hi ..

I applied for visitor visa in 2005 and got a 10 year visa ... I got married in Jan 2006... Now, My husband's H1B visa is being processed. I suppose my H4 visa will take about 6 months to be processed.

I would like to know, If i have to travel along with my husband ... can I travel on my visitor's visa (i can stay there for upto 6 months... at the end of 6 months i come back here) while my H4 visa is being processed here in india.

please suggest a suitable solution to my problem...

    thank you,
    Annie

    H1 and B1 visa

I applied for visitor visa in 2005 and got a 10 year visa ... I got married in Jan 2006... Now, My husband's H1B visa is being processed. I suppose my H4 visa will take about 6 months to be processed.

---- We are assuming that your husband's H1 being processed for year 2006. As per your post you seem to be residing in India, in which case you can apply for your H4 visa stamping immediately after your husband receives the H1B approval notice

I would like to know, If i have to travel along with my husband ... can I travel on my visitor's visa (i can stay there for upto 6 months... at the end of 6 months i come back here) while my H4 visa is being processed here in india.

---- You can travel with your husband on B1 visa independently, but once you are married, you have to declare that you are married while applying for H4 visa stamping in India. There is no need of processing H4 if and while you are in India

---- In summary you have to apply for your H4 visa stamping in India and once that visa is stamped on your Passport you can travel as many times as you want

Hope this helps. Else visit the forum
