Hi Friends,
My name is Salim Shaikh. I have given application for H1B in US, and I have got approval too. I have one Question to ask.
I am Muslim from India. I am divorced man. I got married with one USA Citizen girl on jan-2002 according to Indian and Muslim marriage rules in Mumbai, India, I also registered this marriage into Indian court and after 1 year means dec-2003 I got divorce due to some personal reasons. Now question is my x-wife was in USA during our divorce. As per Muslim low I uttered “Talak” means ”Divorce” 3 times before elders from my and her side and one Notary Advocate. So divorce was done. This action was notarised. One copy of the Notarised document was sent to my x-wife and one is with me.
According to Muslim Law only man can give divorce not woman. This document has signatures of me, my elders’, her elders’, and a Notary Advocate’s.
My x-wife is stay in USA now. I never met or talked each other after my divorce.
Now I want to ask you that what documents should I carry with me during the H1B Interview as a proof of my divorce.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Salim.
