H1b renewal

1. I have a question regarding H1 renewal. I have valid H1 with VISA until June 2007. Can I apply for H1 renewal and travel abroad while my H1 renewal is in process. Can I leave United States and come back within the validity of old H1 like before June 2007. Please suggest whether it is advisable to travel abroad when H1 Renewal is in process

2. My Passport expires in 2008. if I apply for H1 renewal will it be extyended for 3 years or it is extended based on Passport expiration.

1. You can come back as long as your previous visa stamp has not expired.
2. Based on the duration of LCA that got approved for your employer, usually 3 years.
