H1B document - Degree certificate

Hi,

I have finished my B.Tech degree in Nov 2004 from National Insititute of Technology,India. I have received my degree certificates after 6 months. But due to printing mistake in my degree certificate, i have submitted the degree certificate to my college for recorrection, but still they didn't recorrected the certificates.


Now i have shortlisted for X company for H1B visa processing. Without this degree certificate if they apply for H1B visa, will it be accepted\rejected?


I have following original certificates in my Hand expect orginal degree certificate.

1) Marksheet (Transcript)
2) Provisonal Certificate


Please tell me that for H1b Visa processing

1) Is degree certificate is mandatory?
2) If the degree certificate is not there will they accept Provisional certificate.


Note : Please assume other documents are perfect.

Duplicate Degree Certificate for H1B Visa

Dear Sir,

I am Avinash Kumar working for one of the leading IT firm.
I have initiated for H1B Visa last week,somehow i missed my Degree
Certificate but i have scanned copy of it,
meanwhile I have applied for duplicate degree in my University which I
will be getting soon.

So my concern is at the time of Interview is it okay if I have
duplicate copy of degree issued by University .I have all other
documents in original (I have scanned copy of my lost Degree Certificate)

Kindly do the needfull.

Provisional degree and mark sheet are sufficient to file H-1; but provisional degree certificate should be duly issue by university from which you have studied.

Hi Priya Gopi,

My plan was dropped at that time and didn't apply. So no idea whether will it be O.K to go with only mark sheet and provisional....

Later i got the corrected certificate (not new one), in the same certificate they changed the details by writing and putting a signature.... With this certificate my visa got approved...its not a matter whether you get a new one or not...at-least you need request your university to give the corrected certificate by writing and sign....
