Hi,
I am currently on my OPT and my H1B starts on 15th Jan. I am going for H1B stamping to Vancouver on 18th January. Since I am on my OPT my employer pays half of my salary as per diem. So I am currently taxable only on the other half of my salary. This is totally legal since I am on my OPT right now and my employer doesn't need to show any minimum wages. However, my question is that will it have any affect on my H1 stamping e.g Will the Visa Officer raise this question and possibly hold my H1 stamping. I am just concerned that should I wait couple of months to get my regular pay checks as per H1b rules or should I just go ahead and not worry about this.
Please advice appropriately.
Thank You
Ajay
