Hi all,
I have a problem and need some advice. I am currently on OPT which runs out July 20, 2007. I got a job as a programmer Dec 15, 2006, but by that time, the H1B1 cap had been reached. I can apply for the new quota starting April 1, 2007, but can't start work until October 1, 2007. That leaves a 9 week gap in my employment authorization. The only category I can apply for employment based permanent residency requires labor certification and that take at least a year. Is there any way that I can bridge this 9 week gap between my OPT and H1B1? Thanks.
