Comming back to US, without going to Counsalte..

I came on H4 to US, then I got H1 B visa on Oct 2005. Started working on Aug 2006. I have all the paystubs since then. I never got stamped for my H1.
Now I am planning to visit India. Can I come back to US with out visiting counsalte in India. By showing I-797 at POE can I enter US?

The answer is NO. You must get your visa stamped at the consulate before entering US.
