---- There may not be a problem to go for the interview even when one has discontinued studies. They may have to provide a reason to come to Mexico for the H1 Visa interview and as we see and read many of these cases have been issued a 221g for one reason or the other

---- However, if the person is lucky they may get past this 221g issue and get the Visa. I would keep my fingers crossed as he is not applying for the Visa interview in India.

        221g

If I receive 221g in mexico whether i need to go to India,or to US or to stay in Mexico,

---- If you receive a 221g in Mexico you may have to continue staying in Mexico. You cannot come to US. You may think of going to India from Mexico, but when the US Consulate ask for your you should be prepared to be present at the Consulate

and plse exaplin what region I need to give why u came to mexico for stamping

---- They will not ask you this question. If at all it is asked it will be in a friendly manner. It is does turn out to be serious, then just say that it was near to you and thus thought of coming to Mexico (depending on where you stay in the US)

          Hi Subramanya,

Thank you very much for your valuable response.

As I mentioned earlier I came on F1 and changed status to H1B without finishing my masters. Even I dont have OPT card as I did not finish my course work.

My financial situation back in India is not good. I already missed my sister's marriage last year. In febrauary my brother's marriage is there. So, I would like to check what are the chances of getting H1B stamp in Matamarous, Mexico. I booked slot on feb 13th in Matamarous,Mexico.

So, please suggest me whether to go for stamping is a good decision or not

---- You can always go for the Visa interview, but if you are going to India anyway for some family reasons might as well take an appointment in India and get the Visa

---- As opposed to going to Mexico and then guessing what will happen
